  • About Mead Fellowships Awards

    Mead Fellowships are designed to help UAL students and alumni develop their creative practice. You can request funding of between £3,000 (minimum) and up to £10,000 (maximum).

    Deadline: 9am on Monday 24 February 2025 (UK time).

    The Mead Awards are committed to reflecting student diversity at all stages of its decision-making processes. As well as being experienced creatives, the panellists and judges we invite to take part are diverse in terms of age, caring responsibilities, disability, race and ethnicity, gender and sexuality. We are committed to helping to create a diverse cultural sector.

    If there are any barriers to your participation or you have access requirements you wish to discuss, please email mead@arts.ac.uk in advance and we'll be happy to talk with you.

    Eligibility

    Your proposed project must be completed between September 2025 and July 2026.

    Who can apply

    • Undergraduates may apply in the final year of studying for a BA or BSc degree at UAL
    • Postgraduates may apply in their final year of MA / MSc / MBA / M Arch / MDes / MRes / Grad Dip / PhD courses
    • 2024 Graduates from one of the UAL courses listed above

    Award not open for

    • Students on UAL Short Courses, Foundation, Diploma or PG Cert courses
    • Anyone who works at UAL (apart from Art Temps)

    Applying as a team

    All team members must come within the same eligibility criteria. Full details of each team member's course and year of graduation are required in this form.

    What you need to complete the application

    • You must attach your Project Proposal form to this online submission, as a Word document or a PDF. Do not exceed the word count for each section on the application form.
    • Fields marked * are required.

    Careers and Employability is researching how many UAL students and recent graduates become self-employed. This information is being collected for UAL’s self-employment monitoring and has no impact on your application.
