Introduction

The purpose of the Associate Studio Programme (ASP) is to support recent graduates establish a professional practice for themselves. It aims in particular to support those graduates whose financial circumstances mean that a subsidised studio space may be the only way they could afford a studio.

Deadline: 10am, Friday 19 June 2026.

Please note applications can only be made through this online form. Any submissions recieved in any other format or received after the deadline cannot be considered.

Before you start

Please read carefully the guidance notes (opens Double agents website in a new tab). 

Prepare a PDF portfolio of recent work with your application. Requirements for the PDF portfolio:

  • maximum 6 pages documenting up to 5 pieces of work
  • file size no larger than 10MB
  • each work must be identified with a title, media, dimensions and date.

In addition to the PDF Portfolio, you must also upload an up-to-date CV. Requirements for the CV:

  • PDF file format
  • up to 2 pages long.

If the work submitted is video, then a link to Vimeo or YouTube (with any required password) should be added in the relevant section of this form.

Privacy Notice

This privacy notice relates to your application for the Associate Studio Programme as necessary for the processing and assessment of your application.

UAL processes personal information (including your name, email address and any other information you provide on your application) taken from your application to:

  • identify you within the application process
  • maintain contact with you during the selection process.

The personal information of shortlisted candidates, if unsuccessful, are kept on file on reserve for the period of the programme.

The personal data relating to your application will be processed under the basis 6(1)f ‘legitimate interests’.

Your data will be stored on UAL hosted systems: One Drive and University emails within the Microsoft Office 365 environment.

Your data will be accessed by the selection panel, comprising of:

  • UAL staff
  • former Associates of the Studio Programme
  • representatives from Acme studios, who are a third-party partner of the University.

Data belonging to the selected applicants will be kept for the duration of the 2-year programme, plus 3 years.

Data belonging to all other applicants will be kept for the duration of the 2-year programme, plus 6 months.

You can submit a maximum of 5 video pieces or extracts, totalling no more than 15 minutes in length.

Please note: If any of the links are password-protected, please enter the required password(s) in the “Link passwords (if applicable)” field below.

Please provide passwords in the format “link number – password”, where the link number matches the corresponding YouTube / Vimeo link field and the password allows us to review your video.

Please ensure that your CV is up-to-date and it is no longer than 2 pages.
