Welcome to UAL Libraries

Please complete this form to register to borrow from our libraries as a SCONUL user. 

You must have SCONUL Access approval for Band A, B or C access. You'll be asked to provide your SCONUL Access approval email and a scanned image of your home institution ID card. 

What you need to know

• You don't need to complete this form if you have SCONUL Access Band R approval as this entitles you to reference access only.
• All SCONUL Access approved users, including those registered to borrow, must book a library visitor appointment each time they visit one of our libraries.
• We will let you know when your library account has been created; you will then be able to borrow up to 3 items with a 3-week loan period per item.
• You won't receive a UAL library card. Items will be loaned to you at the library information desk on production of your home institution ID.

Privacy notice

In order to provide this service, we collect your name, email address and home institution ID number. The legal basis we rely on to process your data is GDPR Article 6(1)(f) Legitimate interest – the processing is necessary for UAL Library Services to provide access to library resources. 

Scanned documentation that you upload to this system will be deleted after your application is processed. 

Your personal data is not shared with any other organisation and is held on UAL managed systems for a period of 6 years, after which it will be deleted.
