  • You will only need to complete this section if your centre is applying to deliver the following UAL general qualifications

    Guidance documentation for invigilators will be provided to your centre following approval. This section must be authorised by your centre's exam officer.

    Do you intend to deliver the following UAL general qualifications:

    • 603/1457/6 UAL Level 3 Applied General Diploma in Art and Design
    • 603/1459/X UAL Level 3 Applied General Extended Diploma in Art and Design
  • Please provide the name and contact details of your centre's exam officer.

  • The centre must ensure that:

    1. It has in place adequate equipment including:

    • • One computer terminal per student with an up to date internet browser, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word installed
    • • Digital photography equipment (phones are not allowed during assessment)
    • • Leads, connectors, card readers or digital infrastructure required for image transfer
    • • A means by which to securely store all digital submissions (e.g. single hard drive or cloud storage)
    • • A secure Wi-Fi connection
    • • IT support staff available on standby in case of emergency.

     

    2. The assessment venue is adequate by ensuring:

    • • The assessment venue has a secure storage area for physical work during the controlled assessment period
    • • The assessment venue is accessible to all candidates
    • • The assessment venue is clearly signposted and appropriate to facilitate a valid assessment under controlled conditions
    • • Access to the assessment venue is restricted and notices outside the room indicate that a controlled assessment is taking place
    • • The assessment venue is of an acceptable temperature, quiet, located away from disturbances, and well lit
    • • Candidates are provided with sufficient workspace and spaced apart to prevent collaboration
    • • An accurate clock is visible to all candidates
    • • Candidates are afforded access to a toilet
    • • The venue is safe and has in place effective fire prevention and evacuation measures.

     

    3. Centre staff is adequate by ensuring:

    • • Its workforce is of an appropriate size and competence, have received the appropriate invigilator training and are qualified to invigilate the assessment
    • • The invigilator is not a senior member of teaching staff who is responsible for the department or for teaching the qualifications being assessed
    • • An invigilator is present in the room where the assessment takes place at all times during assessment
    • • An appropriately trained and qualified member of staff (not associated with the teaching curriculum) is available to assist if the invigilator(s) leave the room 
    • • An examination contingency plan is in place
    • • There are secure storage and distribution process in place for exam and assessment papers.

    • Are autonomous i.e. not part of the structure of your organisation, even if they are owned by the same parent company
    • Carry out on behalf of your organisation any part of the development, delivery or award of UAL qualifications

      Why do we collect your data?

      We are collecting your details and college details for the UAL Awarding Body approval process.

      The information will be used to:

      • analyse suitability of the centre to deliver UAL Awarding Body qualifications
      • arrange approval visits
      • prepare centre agreements
      • to inform you about our service through online and printed material

      We collect your name and contact details so that we are able to contact you and we collect details about your centre so that we are able to answer your questions and offer you relevant services.

      What do we do with your data?

      We will store your contact data within UAL Awarding Body IT systems in the UK. Your contact details will be kept while they are current for 6 years after the end of our working relationship, or 1 year after a decision has been made if your application is unsuccessful.

      If you request print material, we will share your name and address details with a fulfilment company who are based in the UK. They will only use your details to post your material and will remove your data from their systems as soon as your material has been posted. We will not share your data with any other third parties.

      Your details will not be transferred outside of the EEA without your consent.

      Legal basis: we will process your data based on GDPR Article 6(1)(f) - legitimate interests.
